Abigail's class took a trip to Casey's farm, where they got to see chickens, pigs, rabbits and cows. For the past month their school has taken care of 20 eggs that hatched last week. Today they returned the chicks to their home and learned about caring for animals, recycling, compost piles, eggs and life on the farm. Olivia was along for the ride.

An education on farm life @ Casey's Farm
The kids in Abigail's preschool class got to learn about how to grind corn and feed roosters and hens properly. They learned how to check and see how fresh (or rotten) an egg is by using a container of water. They learned the history of Casey's farm and pretended to be baby chicks. What's the red thing on the top of a roosters head? Abigail knows. It's a COMB!

Sailing in Newport
We had a chance sail on the 1962 America's Cup contender Nefertiti, a classic 12 Meter class racing boat, in Newport this weekend. It was a blast.

Olivia's FIRST haircut
Olivia got her very first haircut today at Shannon's in downtown Newport, RI. While she waited for her turn, she watched Abigail give an outstanding demonstration on how to behave during a haircut and she played with Millie, Shannon's pup. We saved a little blonde wave.
